Four people were injured and one person died on Monday night when a car left the road and collided with a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, going through the glass windows. It is not clear if the victims were passengers or customers in the restaurant, or what happened to the driver. Witnesses told a local news station that the car appeared to be driving at about 100 mph when the driver lost control. According to the local fire department, the injuries of the four individuals were minor.

Although little is known at this time about the direct causes of the accident, high speeds are often evidence of reckless driving. Other common factors include distraction and drug or alcohol use. There are no allegations of either in this case.

In cases of reckless driving or other types of negligence, the victims or family of the deceased victim may have a claim against the person or entity who was at fault. A wrongful death suit may allow the family of a victim of an accident to get compensation for costs such as medical or funeral expenses. It can be difficult to begin to deal with all of these issues after a serious accident has occurred. An experienced attorney can act as an advocate for victims in dealing with the other parties to an accident and any insurance companies that may get involved.

In lawsuits against a negligent driver, eye witness testimony is usually important in determining the exact events. In this case, there appear to have been many

eye witnesses who may be able to shed light on the painful events of Monday night.

Crime scene tape was wrapped around portions of the KFC while the investigation in to the crash continues. The car was flipped on its side near the corner of the building, according to local news footage. Witnesses stated that the car hit the curb and became airborne, then slid into the restaurant.
